Tony Bonning is a Scots-born writer, storyteller and musician who lives in Kirkcudbright, Galloway. Regularly working in schools and libraries across Britain, Tony who writes for both adults and children has written three bestsellers.

 

He is co-founder of Markings, the national poetry magazine, and held the post of children’s poet-in-residence on the Western Isles in 2001.

 

Tony is rated as one of Scotland's top performers for young children. Children love his high energy mix of stories and songs with a Scottish flavour. His experience comes from interactions with his seven children and with the five music groups which he runs for pre-school children.

 

He is the Founder and Director of the Galloway Children’s Festival, the largest event for children in South-West Scotland.
